Porsche and tennis go together like… French wine and golf, Range Rovers and polo. You get the idea, any sport that's played by people with lots of money is ideal for promoting premium vehicles.
Last year, the Stuttgart brand decided to associate itself with one of the biggest personalities in tennis, WTA current #3, Maria Sharapova. Besides being Russia's finest, she's also desperately pretty, which is why Porsche named her their brand ambassador.
Today, the queen of tennis received her new chariot during her visit to her hometown of Sochi, Russia. The car is a stunning white Porsche Panamera GTS “by Maria Sharapova”, built with care and attention under the Porsche Exclusive program.
In a fitting tribute to the winter games, her car is finished in glossy and deep white paint and has tinted headlights and LED for contrast, as well as 20-inch gloss black alloy wheels.
The Panamera GTS was just updated for the 2014 mode year and features a 4.8-liter V8 that's been bumped up from 420 hp to 440 hp. The German sports sedan reaches 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds and won't stop until it shows 288 km/h (179 mph) on the clock.
