What do a tennis star and a race driver have in common? Apparently, quite a lot, as we found out from watching Maria Sharapova and Mark Webber getting along nicely in the new Porsche 918 Spyder.
The star of the clay court recently took part in the Porsche Tennis GP, held in Stuttgart. But since she's also a Porsche brand ambassador she and F1 driver Mark Webber got to sample the new hybrid supercar that sits atop the Porsche range.
Maria didn't actually drive the new Porsche, which would have been interesting to see. But Webber says she spurred him to go faster and faster. At the end of the video, the tennis player says she loved the car but thinks the 918 is a little out of her price range. Her special Panamera sports limo built to order will have to do for now, won't it!
This video was released by Porsche on Saturday, one day before Maria Sharapova won her third straight Porsche Grand Prix title. Her comeback victory against Ana Ivanovic in the finals marks her 30th career title and the first victory of 2014.
Sharapova's victory comes after four months of recovery time, nursing surgery to her shoulder. Still, with 13 consecutive match victories in Stuttgart, the tennis player might have something to feel optimistic about.
