Kate Fretti, the former fiancee of Marco Simoncelli, was involved in a scooter accident, and she didn't fare too well after this incident. According to Italian media, Kate Fretti was a passenger aboard a scooter ridden by her current boyfriend, traveling in the city of Rimini.
A car that was driving in the same direction inadvertently made a u-turn without checking if the road was clear. The scooter rider could no longer avoid the impact, which is reported to have been a violent one. The Municipal Police of Rimini is still investigating the conditions that led to this crash and an official statement from the law enforcement is expected.
Still, she was operated yesterday in Rimini to reduce two fractures in her left leg tibia and fibula and stabilize the broken bones. She was also diagnosed with multiple facial contusions and trauma-induced pneumothorax, but again, with no potentially life-threatening consequences.
She is actively involved with the foundation's current projects, most of them being focused on charitable goals. The project run by the Marco Simoncelli Foundation mainly deals with disadvantaged persons and especially children and young people.
Kate is the Head of Organization and Italian Projects for the foundation while Sic's father Paolo Simoncelli and the notorious Carlo Pernat are Technical Advisers.
