Even if Madrid has last seen a MotoGP race back in 1998, the Madrid Motor Days was the perfect occasion to bring some of the premier class motorcycle riders for some high-paced powersports action.
Pilots such as Marc Marquez, Alvaro Bautista and MotoGP rookie Pol Espargaro joined the likes of Carlos Sainz Jr. and 4-wheel icon Dani Sordo on the track.
The attendance enjoyed seeing real-life racing between these fellows, most of whom are slowly returning to their winter training routines, ahead of the pre-season testing in early February.
Proving that 4 wheels make a rather small difference from only two in such conditions, Marquez claimed the second position on the podium, behind car racing star Dani Sordo.
MotoGP brings two tests at Sepang in February, with the kick-off Commercial Bank Grand Prix of Qatar race on March 23.
