Good news for Marc Marquez, his team and his fans: doctors have confirmed he doesn't need surgery after his hard crash during the past MotoGP round at Silverstone, UK.
Marquez came off his bike in the Vale corner during the Sunday WUP and he dislocated his left shoulder. He was examined on Tuesday by the "almighty fix-em-all" Dr. Xavier Mir at the Quiron Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona, Spain and injuries to his shoulder ligaments were detected. However, Dr. Mir said that he will be able to recover very well without surgery.
The Repsol Honda rookie was recently handed two penalty points by the Silverstone Race Direction for "failing to demonstrate sufficient deceleration in a yellow flag zone". Yellow flags came out as Tech3 Yamaha rider Cal Crutchlow had crashed in almost the same place tens a very short time before Marquez rode in the area.
As Marquez came off his bike, the machinery also impacted Crutchlow's motorcycle which was being picked up by marshals. They had enough time to get out of the way and thankfully nobody was hurt. You can watch this incident here.
