Good news for the fans of Marc Coma and KTM: the Spaniard is back on two wheels and it looks like he's more eager to win like he was before. He won the first place in the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, the first round of the World Cross Country rounds of the year.
After the KTM Rally Factory Team was forced to skip the 2013 Dakar rally because of an injury sustained earlier in 2012 and not fully recovered in time, it's racing time again. And winning time, too!
Coma finished the Desert Challenge 32 seconds ahead of Husqvarna Speedbrain's Paulo Goncalves. Goncalves was followed by Sam Sunderland (Honda), Pål-Anders Ullevålseter, Jakub PrzygoDski, Tadeusz BBa|usiak, and Miran Stanovnik (all riding KTM machines).
Hopefully Coma will manage to stay out of trouble throughout the year and get to pit his skills and his bike's capabilities against the other Dakar riders. And with Cyril Despres no longer in the KTM team, he's the most important orange rider, now.
The next cross-country round is scheduled to start on April 21 in Qatar: the Sealine Cross-Country Rally.
