Mansory has never been the subtle kind of tuner. This direct approach of theirs has led to a series of horribly exaggerated cars in the past, but from time to time, it can lead to something like this.
Don't get me wrong, this Mansory S63 AMG Black Edition is exaggerated like hell. This car looks like no S-Class should ever look like unless it wants to be cast as one of the dragons in Game of Thrones. It is ridiculously aggressive to the point where you don't want to make eye contact with it for too long as it might get mad. And you don't want it to get mad.
Mansory have used some huge 22" wheels made in-house which go by the name of "Spider" - and it's not because they resemble a spider web, but the spider itself. Apart from adding to the overall horror theme, they also have the added benefit of making the car's body look smaller, which gives the Mansory S63 AMG Black Edition better overall proportions.
But it's just a shell of evil, a mask for a peaceful car to hide beneath. Not a chance. The look of the larger air intakes, the vents in the bonnet, the wider arches, the over complicated side skirts, the massive spoiler mounted on the boot and the air diffuser is mirrored in the engine compartment as well.
The standard Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe comes with a 5.5-liter V8 engine with 585 hp and 900 Nm (663 lb-ft). It's hard to say whether these numbers would have been enough to cut it with the Mansory look, but the German tuner didn't want to take any chances.
So they went into overdrive and somehow managed to squeeze 985 hp and 1,400 Nm (1,032 lb-ft) out of the same V8 block. That meant a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint of just 3.2 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph). If these numbers look familiar, it's because they're exactly the same as those of Mansory's previous attempt at tuning the Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe, the Diamond Edition.
No pricing information has been made available, but we do know we'll get to see the car in Frankfurt and we should be able to get all the details then. It won't be cheap, but the only option to being this evil is selling your soul, which might prove more costly on the long run.
