No one has ever accused the premium car modification brand from Brand, Germany, of being subtle. Sure, there have been timid attempts from the company to deliver toned-down projects, but Mansory's reputation of being the go-to purveyor of outlandish custom builds can't be changed overnight.
In the world of bespoke, luxurious tuning, the German company has made a name for itself – even though we did find crazier projects in the past than some of the latest introductions from Brand.
Now, the tuner is again ready to shake our confidence in their strategy; just when we thought it settled on a style, here’s Mansory carving a path in a completely different niche.
Granted, the BSTN GT XI by Mansory does have four wheels and is even equipped with classic whitewall tires. But it’s oh so ironical how we are not surprised their well-known exaggerations work extremely well on a custom... lawnmower.
The creation is a special project for sports shoes and apparel company BSTN and was developed specifically to support the introduction of the Air Jordan XI (11) Retro “Jubilee” family lineup.
The shoes carrying the name of the greatest basketball star of all time, Michael Jordan, debuted online on December 12th, with available worldwide shipping and pricing that kicked off at €74.99 (around $91 at the current exchange rates).
Don’t cheer over affordability because that’s the “Toddler” version being quoted there. There are also Preschool (PS), Grade School (GS), WMNS, and Men versions - and the adult options go for at least €219.99 ($266).
We have no idea how much the BSTN GT XI by Mansory lawnmower would cost, but there were many bright minds involved in its creation. That’s because the “one-of-a-kind lawn tractor” also needed some help from another German tuning shop – DB Avantgarde.
As far as Mansory is concerned, the customization specialist was directly responsible for the unique body parts, the handcrafted body panels, as well as the sole element we deem worthy of taking home – the tailored racing seat.
