Mansory 4XX Based on Ferrari 488 GTB Looks Like a Baby FXX K

Very few people in the world have any idea what driving a Ferrari FXX K is like. The Italians only made a few of them and hand-picked the customers. But a "4XX" fake based on the 488 GTB might be within reach of normal millionaires.

Meet this year's big project from the crazy car customizers at Mansory. Usually, they go over the top with big wings and radically changed bodies, so an FXX K doppelganger is right up their alley.

The car was presented in February and is only now making its "real world" appearance, on the sidelines of the Goodwood Festival of Speed no less. With the Vulcan and all the other insane rides, this didn't get a lot of attention. But we thought a V8 version of Ferrari's legendary track car is worthy of a delayed appearance.

If yellow paint and odd wings aren't your thing, know at least that the 488 GTB's new engine has received a thorough tune. The 3.9-liter bi-turbo now produces a meaty 590 hp and 561lb ft (870Nm) of torque. This was achieved just by optimizing the engine management and adding a better exhaust system.

Supposedly, all those wings and spoilers improve downforce. But we doubt they did any serious wind tunnel testing like Ferrari did when the FXX K was developed. That said, the 4XX look cool, a fresh take on the 488's design that doesn't swerve too far from the famous Italian exotica... or should we say erotica.

What we like is how the yellow paint combines with black carbon fiber. Didn't they make a G63 AMG just like that?

In addition to claiming it has more power than the F12, the Mansory project can also reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds and push on to 341km/h (211mph). For the record, the factory numbers would have been 3 seconds flat and 330km/h (205mph). Yeah, it's not exactly mind-blowing stuff from Mansory!
