Don’t be fooled by this 2000s Ford Focus’ humble looks. It might smoke your current car or at least get a lot of attention wherever it goes. Why? It has a V8 under the hood.
And yes, it’s mounted the right way - longitudinally, powering the rear wheels via a C4 transmission and a Ford 8.8 rear end. The engine is a 5-liter V8 Ford crate motor making 340 hp, which has also been gifted with an Edelbrock intake, Quick Fuel Hot Rod Series carburetors, Crane Cams HI-6 ignition and coils as well as aluminum valve covers.
Of course, the owner spent a little fortune to turn the 90,000 mile Focus into this ultimate urban sleeper, with a quick cost estimate set at over $20,000. On the outside, the car looks stock and in very good shape, thing also applying to the interior, where you can still find the stock AM FM cassette player. The are a few extra dials mounted there to giveaway it’s not a sane car though.
The car was on sale last year as well, but it appears no one bought it. The owner now says he moved to another project and really wants to sell it. The current bid is at around $6,000, but it appears the reserve is not met, so if you think it’s worthy, go place a bid here.
