Even though the brand new BMW X5 M isn’t available for sale at the moment, the guys from Manhart Racing have already developed their own version. Dubbed MHX5 750, I think you can guess just how much power it has, right? Yeah, 750 HP!
It might seem close to unbelievable but the German Tuner has gotten us used to such outrageous amounts of power before. After all, they created the MH4 550, a variant of the M4 that has the same 3-liter engine under the bonnet but making 550 HP instead of 431. If that’s doable, why not get 750 HP out of a 4.4-liter?

That’s not all though. The torque level is even more impressive, the tuner claiming that it can go up and over the 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft) benchmark, a feat that is absolutely stunning.

Therefore, we’re bound to get an upgraded car that doesn’t really care that it weighs over 2 tons. It will have enough power to shame a freight train and the acceleration times worthy of supercars. Don’t forget that the SUVs in the M range are also fitted with all-wheel drive systems.

One thing keeps us wondering though: will the transmission handle all that power? After all, the 8-speed ZF gearbox used here is rated up to 1,000 Nm of torque but going above that level of twist might pose some problems.

To get to these numbers, Manhart decided to upgrade the turbochargers, reflash the ECU, changed the admission and the exhaust system with one developed in-house.

On the outside, the usual Manhart tricks were applied. The bonnet was changed with a vented one, the front bumper received a new spoiler and the rear one a new diffuser that hosts four tailpipes of considerable bigger size. Oh, and the wheels were also changed with one of the their own in matte black and they look spectacular!

Since the stock car with 575 HP and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque is capable of reaching 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds, just how fast will the MHX5 750 be? Care to guess?
