Manhart Racing Teases Special M235i Model

A lot of people these days compare the BMW M235i with its hatchback brother, the M135i and, while both of them are great cars, they aren’t the same.

The Coupe has more power and better styling overall, while using the same engine as the hatch, the same upgraded N55 unit with the BMW trademark 6-cylinder inline architecture and one turbocharger. Strictly comparing the two, though, the 2-door alternative has 326 HP on the 3-door or 5-door’s 320 HP. Torque is the same at 450 Nm (332 lb-ft).

While the hatch will appeal to the more practical side of our personality, the coupe will address those that want more style and care less about carrying around luggage and more than 4 people (that’s not to mean that the 2er doesn’t have plenty of boot space).

Manhart Racing surely loves one of the more than the other. That’s because Coupes have always been sportier than hatches. So, when we saw them teasing a special version of the M235i, we had to let you know, immediately.

After seeing what they were capable of doing to a M135i, taking it up to 400 HP and 561 Nm (414 lb-ft) of torque and transforming it into a pure beast, we can hardly wait to see what they’ll do with the 2 Series.

We’re guessing a bit more power and torque and the same overall body kit with the same paint scheme but we just can’t wait to see the final result. Come on Manhart! Put us out of our misery and let us know exactly what you’re doing to it!
