Getting rid of everything that defines your current life and heading for the adventure of your lifetime could turn out as dangerous, as it could be life-changing. That is what a young adventurer named Cud Eastbound did this summer when he decided to make one last stop with his old 1977 Dodge Camper van, in Dawson City Yukon.
It was June 6th when he set off on an adventure worthy of a book. And we can only wish him well, considering he literally moved in his long time camper in the middle of the woods in Yukon and wants to spend an entire winter there. Temperatures can go us low as -31 degrees Celsius (-24 degrees Fahrenheit) in January, which is quite risky for an adventure into the wild.

I packed/gave away everything I owned, released a new album, left Halifax and went westward on 2 month cross Canada tour, leading me all the way up to Dawson City Yukon. I toured with my 77 Dodge Camper van, who’s name is Night Danger,” Eastbound explains on his blog he is constantly updating as the days pass.

The van is continuously being changed and improved, as its owner is learning how to turn it into a house that will offer the proper shelter for the harsh winter to come. Cud managed to build a wood stove inside and to cover the entire vehicle in straw bales, which takes care of the heat.

He even has a Carbon Monoxide detector inside

The land located in Bear Creek belongs to a friend of Cud, who lent it to him for the winter. As the days pass, new problems such as leaky doors and windows appear, but the young adventurer claims there are many folks helping him out with ideas, labour, time and most important of all support.

Cud’s adventure might sound like the famous Into the Wild story, but as opposed to Christopher McCandless it would seem this fellow is trying to take all the safety measures, as he even has a Carbon Monoxide detector inside the car.
