What do you do when you can’t afford to buy a luxury sportscar? Well, you could spend about ten years of your life saving money in the hopes you will eventually be able to get one. You could as well rent one and later brag about it in front of you colleagues at work. That was this motorist’s plan, anyhow until it got ruined by the Dubai Police who confiscated his car for serious violations.
The passionate petrolhead shelled out as much as 80 percent of his monthly salary for a perfect, one-day joy ride, according to Khaleej Times. He took the sportscar to work, posed with it acting like he actually owns it and then left.
The problem is, the enthusiasm was a little too big, considering he broke several traffic laws in the process, thus forcing the Dubai Police to confiscate the vehicle.
He may have enjoyed the delight only a luxury sportscar can offer, but this also cost him a tonne of cash. It turns out the driver will have to pay the police administrative penalty, confiscation charges and the punishment for reckless driving. And that’s without counting the daily rent that gets bigger with every day it remains in the impoundment. Worst car experience ever? One of the most expensive ones, definitely.
P.S.: In case you were wondering, the unlucky fellow was not the only motorist to be fined by the police. In fact, in just one week, the Dubai Police confiscated 154 cars including a Ferrari and a Lamborghini.
