Latest Lexus building standards ensure that the roof will support at least five times more the vehicle’s mass, but that won’t save you from being crushed by a truck trailer if your luck runs out.
A man driving a Lexus RX recently suffered minor injuries after a trailer full of alfalfa toppled over his car and crushing its roof.
The driver escaped only because the roof over his side remained almost intact, while the 14,5 ton (32,000 lb) trailer crushed the other side of the roof down to hood level.
The crash happened Wednesday night on the westbound 91 Freeway near State College Boulevard in Anaheim. There were no information regarding the cause of the accident, but it looks like the truck driver lost control of the rig and started swerving around until it toppled over.
