Man Killed in Suspected Road Rage Attack

Since we have spoken about a study showing that male drivers are more prone to road rage, it would be nice to supply you with an (unpleasant) example to show you aggressiveness brings nothing good...

A 32-old-man, father of 10-month-old son died after being shot in the abdomen in a suspected road rage attack on the Gold Coast Highway at Burleigh Heads, The Daily Telegraph reported. The victim identified as Omega Ruston was traveling on the Gold Coast Highway on Monday night following an afternoon celebrations with his family. He stopped at Burleigh Heads without knowing this will be his final stop.

Police believe the ute, an ethnically related group of American Indians now living primarily in Utah and Colorado, victim was shot at 10.40 p.m. (AEST) on Australia Day  following a minor altercation as he travelled south along the Gold Coast Highway. However, it seems there is nothing to make police believe the shooting happened because of racial reasons.

Now, Ruston's partner Courtney Kete asked the three men supposed to be in the shootings to surrender. "Just come forward," she said.  In addition, detectives believe there are people in the community who know the identity of the shooter but who refuse to reveal the information.

"If they know anything, even if it's a small bit of information, it could help,” Courtney added. "I've lost my best friend, my lover and a father. He didn't deserve what happened."

For the moment, police are searching for a red or maroon sedan which had three people inside. The vehicle was last seen heading south towards the commercial centre of Burleigh Heads.

More sadly, it seems that detective inspector Marc Hogan of Burleigh Heads CIB explained that unless someone contacted police with fresh information, the killer might get away unpunished.
