We’ve seen a lot of lucky kittens being rescued after they got stuck under the bonnet of a car, in the vehicle’s spring, or simply sleeping on the hood of a moving ride. But dogs are bigger, and most likely not that flexible.
It seems to be a different case with this lucky puppy. Not only did he survive getting hit, but it was still alive after hours of driving, when the owner of the car finally set the poor animal free.
Believe it or not, but this puppy actually got hit by a car, and got stuck in the car’s bumper. The incident happened in Fenghuang County in central China’s Hunan Province recently, and quickly made the news' headlines around the country. PETA, wait! Don’t go all 49 Shades of animal cruelty yet. The story, in fact, has a somewhat happy ending.
“I was driving pretty quickly at the time so when I hit the dog, I thought it had either died or run away, so I didn’t get out of the car to check,” the drive of the vehicle Mr. Zhang told local media, according to Metro.
That’s not that nice we know but here’s what happened next. Some miles later the not-so-sharp driver finally heard the poor creature barking from under the car, and when he went to investigate he found the dog stuck in his front bumper.
But this was not truly the moment he decided to take action. Instead, he drove to a veterinarian in his hometown to finally get the dog out of there. In total, reports say he drove 248 miles (399 kilometers).
He must have finally realized the cruelty of the entire situation since it turns out the dog not only survived this whole madness, but was even adopted by the car’s driver.
