Man Drives 24 Hours with His Dead Girlfriend in the Passenger Seat: “I Was in Total Denial”

Man Drives 24 Hours with His Dead Girlfriend in the Passenger Seat: “I Was in Total Denial” 1 photo
What was supposed to be a road trip from Arizona to Michigan turned into a thriller movie for a 62-year old man from Clinton Townships, Macomb County. He found that his girlfriend, a 31-year old woman, who had fallen asleep in the front passenger seat, was actually dead. What is even more awkward is he decided he’ll keep driving.
Ray Tomlinson was driving his 93-year old mother back home, in Michigan, when suddenly, somewhere between Texas and Oklahoma, he saw that his girlfriend was dead. Problem is, the guy never thought calling 911 would be the next normal thing to do.

The reson for that is allegedly he was worried that if he stopped, authorities would have cause him to much problem.

They would have impounded my vehicle, they would have probably incarcerated me to do an investigation and I had a 93-year old woman in my cat that I needed to get home,” he told the The Detroit Free Press reporters in an interview he gave Wednesday. According to the source, he made his decision after he look it up on the internet and found out he had 48 hours to report the death.

As a matter a fact he did cooperate with the investigators and told them he "was in total denial."

Although police did not determine the cause of woman's death yet, it would seem that she had an overdose, because a bottle of OxyContin was found. Moreover, Tomlinson told the officers she had several drug prescriptions filled before she left the mental facility on May 28. In fact, she did use the restroom at a gas station in Flagstaff, Arizona were they made a stop, but nothing seemed wrong with that for the driver.

Police has decided not to charge Tomlinson so far, but like they told him after they’ve investigated him “as soon as you determine that a person is unresponsive, you should pull over and call 911. Because there is always a possibility that you perceive them as dead but they may no be.”

It might sound a bit freaky, but this guy instantly makes us think of the Corpse Bride movie.
