Adventurers are among us, and some of them do amazing things. The fascinating ones do not even spend that much money.
We are now writing about a man named Christopher Many, who embarked on a 125,000 mile trip around the world. So far, nothing spectacular, right? Well, it is spectacular, because he did it in a 1975 Series III Land Rover Defender, and he only paid 700 British pounds for the car. He only lives on a budget of about $6,000 a year, and he claims this is possible through revenue obtained from his book deals.
Christopher’s first adventure started in 2002 and was completed in 2010. It took him from the Scottish Highlands to Scandinavia, Siberia, and Asia. He then crossed the Pacific Ocean and drove through North and South America. The trip did not stop there, as Christopher crossed the Atlantic, drove through Africa, and then returned home, in Europe.
Hw first wrote a book, called Left Beyond the Horizon, which tells his story of the eight and a half years of adventure across the world in an old Land Rover. He accounted for all of the breakdowns of his cheap off-roader, as well as the rollercoaster of emotions that he experienced in day-to-day life on the road that led to him visiting 100 countries.
Christopher’s thirst for adventure was not quenched with an eight-year experience, so he let Matilda (that is how he named the car) rest, and took his motorcycle, Puck, on his next adventure. This time, he was accompanied by Laura, his girlfriend, and found the topic for his second book, named Right Beyond the Horizon.
We are sure he means the puns regarding the titles of his two books, which he uses to fund his adventures. According to his publishing house, Christopher is currently somewhere between Indonesia and Australia. If you want to help him move along and get a beautiful story out of it instead of a Samaritan’s donation, you can buy one (or both) of his books. Right Beyond the Horizon will be published this September.
