Apart from having celebrities wishing people on the East coast to stay safe on social networks and authorities shutting down nearly every form of mass transit, it would seem there was not much about the Blizzard of 2015 that was supposed to strike New York City. And the fellow doing donuts with a snowplow during a live broadcast on The Weather Channel on Monday stands as proof for that.
8,405,837 people were living in the city of New York in 2013, distributed over a land area of just 305 square miles (790 square km). In other words, we’re talking about the most densely populated major city in the US. It’s a busy metropolis folks, you can’t just shut it down like that.

Like what?

Well, like how leaders in the big city decided to do after countless warnings from the National Weather Service scared the life out of them. For the first time in its 110-year history, the subway system was shut down because of... well, snow.

Snowmageddon was supposed to hit New York, but it later proved to be a regular storm. Sure, the blizzard did sharpen its teeth, since it battered Long Island and much of New England, where Nantucket lost power and Scituate, Massachusetts flooded.

Hopefully the damage will not be too big once the storm passes and the sun rises once again. Meanwhile, back in New York City, Monday night was rather a fun night for the city’s inhabitants. Some spent the night at their friend’s apartment so they could get to work in time the next morning, others turned snow piles in true sculptures, yet others went for the drifting potential of a good snow.

It was the case of this man, who found himself being filmed during a live broadcast, so he took the shot to proove to people what a snowplow is capable of. Not that we’re saying you should, but man we love doing those donuts after a good winter snow.
