Mr. Rick Sullivan, an Illinois-based car mechanic, says there are about 1,000 people per day filming or taking a photo of his car. Is he driving a LaFerrari? Nope, he drives an upside-down Ford F-150 pickup truck.
What you see on the outside is the body shell of a 1995 Ford F-150, which has been chopped here and there to be fit over a 1991 Ford Ranger pickup running chassis. And it drives like a dream.

It took Rick six months and $6,000 to finish the topsy-turvy truck from parts in his own garage in Clinton, Illinois.

“People are amazed,” said Mr. Sullivan in an interview. “It’s one of those things that when you first see it it’s hard to recognize what it is, but when they take a second look then they pull me over and want to look at it closely.”

The idea to build such a thing came the day he got a call to rescue a rolled over pickup truck in the snow. After seeing it, Rick thought it would be a cool idea to recreate that as a functional vehicle.

It looks mad, we like it a lot and it’s one of those projects showing that if you want to get attention, you don’t have to buy a supercar; you just need to come up with something original.
