One man proved that the new Lexus generation is addictive and very fun to drive, when he chose to break the law in one of the most expensive cars from the Japanese automaker.
Shota Ishibashi, a 25-year-old man from Kurashiki, Japan, has been arrested after taking a new Lexus for a “test-drive” to his grandmother, located 422 km away.
According to the police, Shota wanted to pay his granny a visit, but the long distance and his thin wallet were not compatible, so he thought to “borrow” a car from a nearby dealership.
Wanting to travel in style, the man got to a Lexus dealer and lied so much that the obtained a 7,900,000 yen (about €60,000) luxury sedan to take for a test drive. His arguments win him a 30 minute ride in the brand new Lexus with no supervisor to accompany him.
Seeing that the man didn’t returned for two hours, the dealership called the police, which used the car’s onboard GPS to track it and find the guy. Ishibashi was found and arrested about halfway to his destination, at 180 km from Kurashiki.
