Next in the queue appears to be A Better Route Planner, or ABRP, a really popular iOS application that allows EV drivers to plan a route including charge stops. The app is specifically optimized for each EV, so users need to select their vehicle model, enter the destination, and then let ABRP configure a route that safely gets them where they want, all with the added benefit of charge stops appropriate for their cars.
And best of all, ABRP is now coming to CarPlay, with the dev team sharing a couple of screenshots on Twitter to provide us with an early look at how everything is going to work in the car.
There’s no ETA as to when the application could get the go-ahead for all users, but this shouldn’t take too long, though.
“Hard to tell but we're doing our best to get it out to you as soon as possible Winking face A bit of development work and testing left to do but we'll also have to see how Apple's review process goes once we push it,” the dev team said when asked about a release date.
And now, another important question: is ABRP coming to Android Auto? Not yet, it seems, as the parent company first wants to get the app ready for CarPlay, make sure everything is working correctly, and only then consider bringing the app to Android Auto.
“Not yet, but it'll most likely be the next task we'll take on after CarPlay is released,” developers said about Android Auto support for their app.” Android Auto will most likely be next!”
