Mahindra Roxor Loses Fenders for Wild SEMA Build, Still Looks Like a Jeep

With less than two months to go before the 2019 edition of the SEMA show, we can already get a sneek peek at the builds coming together for this year's hostilities. And things are looking spicy, as the not-a-Jeep build we have here comes to show.

First things first, though - why does this Mahindra Roxor look like it's a Jeep?

Well, the Roxor is an offroad-only side-by-side built by Indian carmaker Mahindra, which entered business by assembling Willys-licensed flat-fender Jeeps.

The rugged terrain machine started being assembled by Mahindra Automotive North America (MANA) last year, with the vehicle being based on the Indian Mahindra Thar, which shares quite a lot with Jeeps of the 1940s.

Oh, and by the way, vehicles belonging to the said class are only street legal in certain states and you'll have to stay off the highway, unless this is covered in ice/snow or declared close to normal vehicles.

Returning to the project we have here, this comes from a label called Unofficial Use Only. And no, that cage isn't a custom piece, but a factory feature aimed at improving safety.

However, the front fenders have been removed and this is just the start of what should be a massive transformation.

Who knows? Perhaps those fenders were removed to make room for a meatier motor. I know y'all thinking of a V6, but even a Wrangler's Pentastar V6 would be massive improvement over the 63 hp 2.5-liter turbodiesel motor of the original.

Then again, if we check out the tags of the Instagram post showcasing the car, which involve outdoor goodie producers, it wouldn't surprise us to see a tent placed on top of the contraption.

Either way, we'll certainly get a complete look at this all-paw creature once the SEMA show kicks off on November 5.
