Mahindra Reva Opens EV Manufacturing Plant in India

Mahindra Reva is the one of Mahindra’s sub-brands, and more specifically, one which handles the company’s EV related affairs. Now, they have opened a new manufacturing facility which will produce as many as 30,000 all-electric vehicles per year, and while it may not reach its full capacity in the first year, after three years it will reach the aforementioned number.

The plant is located in Bangalore, India and production will kick off in September, with plans to build an initial batch of 6,000 cars. The EV they will be manufacturing is called the Reva NXR, and it is a four seater hatchback with two doors and very small overall dimensions. It has a top speed of 105 km/h (64 mph) and it has a maximum quoted range of around 160 km (100 miles).

If they manage to keep the price low enough, then the Reva NXR will sell very well in India, as well as the rest of the world, if they decide to sell it anywhere else, that is.
