If you thought Indian bike manufacturers are only preoccupied creating small traditional scooters and bikes, it's time to refresh your thinking: here's Mahindra's GenZe STS, an electric scooter for the new generation of riders.
STS stands for Single Track Shuttle, whatever this means. Mahindra could use some thinktank power to come up with a neat name for this two-wheeler, however. On the tech side, the GenZe STS brings a speed up to 30 mph (48 km/h) with the 10 lbs (4.5 kg) battery providing a 30 mile (48 km) range. The battery is replaceable and installing a fresh one for extra range expands the mobility.

The Dash screen provides basic info on remaining battery, but the GenZe STS can also connect to the smartphone and bring in GPS data and music. A special watertight storage allows riders to recharge their handheld gadgets, phones and tablets alike.

The Mahindra GenZe STS is said to be manufactured in the US, and hit the markets in the spring of 2014, with an estimated price tag around $3,000 (€2,220). Via Autoblog.
