Magneti Marelli Acquires New Factory

Magneti Marelli’s US arm, Magneti Marelli Suspensions USA, LLC, has expanded its business by acquiring the International Steel Solutions plant in Pulaski, Tennessee.

The company will use the facility for manufacturing shock absorbers and related suspension parts. A great part of the plant’s current employees will be hired by Magneti Marelli - the company promises to increase this number in the next two years as it plans to further develop its product range. This development path will allow the company to benefit from the skills of the trained local work force and will provide the infrastructure for increasing the North American product line and distribution facilities.

Magneti Marelli is a well-known components manufacturer for the worldwide automotive industry and is part of the Fiat Group. The company’s areas of interest include: powertrain, lighting, electronic systems, suspensions and shock absorber systems, exhaust systems, aftermarket parts and services, plastic component and modules, and last but certainly not least motorsport. For example, Magneti Marelli supplies components for multiple teams in Formula 1, WRC, MotoGP, Superbike, GP2 and FIA GT.

The company has 67 production facilities, 10 research & development centers and 28 application centers in 18 countries, with over 33,000 employees.

We are glad that we can report  positive news from the automotive parts manufacturers’ segment as recently, Autoliv (the world leader in airbag manufacturing), Michelin (important tire producer) and Bosch (world leading automotive components producer) have all announced job cuttings due to the closing of some production sites.
