Mad Max: Fury Road Yamaha Tricity Looks Neat, but the Video Is Funny

Seeing a Yamaha Tricity getting a Mad Max makeover was probably the last thing we expected, but the resulting three-wheeler is indeed looking good. Of course, it will be a sore sight to behold for those who are all about impeccable shiny motorcycles with piano-like lacquer coats and bright chrome accents, but nobody's forcing them to watch it, right?

Rat bikes, scooters and boogies have become a fascination for lots of riders and drivers ever since the initial Mad Max movie was released. With subsequent movies added to the saga, a whole new subculture took off and new trends in this direction started to develop as a natural consequence.

New machines go rat, too

Usually, only old motorcycles were selected to become infused with Mad Max DNA, but lately, the fever extended to new models, as well. Surprising as it may be for some, the ratting process suits the Tricity quite well, and we dare say it is only the beginning.

The first thing was to drill out excess material from this scooter's bodywork, thus making it lighter and improving speed and fuel efficiency The remaining holes add solid Mad Max styling, and are a great complement for the studs that adorn almost every edge of the fairing.

Tricity's fine metallic red color was replaced with a coat of Mad Black matte paint, complemented by a fine layer of dust for perfect integration with the desert environment. This move added decades to the apparent age of the Tricity and is a most welcome solution for misleading the enemies.

Rocketnews24 added strong hand protectors to the handlebars, and the windscreen was replaced with a metal grille. It will do little to protect the rider from dust, but will surely do a great job fending off debris. Protection was also added for both front wheels, and shooting objects between the spokes of a bike is a common practice in the savage wastelands.

Cue matching riding leathers filled with studs and spikes, a bright orange mohawk, and a fake sawn-off shotgun serving as a selfie stick, and you're good to go prowling the streets of the city or giving campers around the town a good scare.

Such a sight may be only too common in Japan, but in other countries, the police would be pulling over Mad Hattori riding this Tricity all the time. Quite a nifty Mad Max: Fury Road tribute and a nice way to expand the rat bike world!
