Have you seen Mad Max: Fury Road? We did, and aside from the fact it was a team building night out, it was quite exciting. The cars in the fourth installment of the famed franchise are what draw our attention most while the plot clearly could have been better. And that’s what YouTubers at Screen Junkies found roast-worthy.
It’s the middle of the week, so we’re allowed to stand back and have a proper laugh for a change, aren’t we? Tom Hardy performance in the long expected post-apocalyptic action film was quite impressive, but just like this ironic video trailer shows, the British actor wasn’t much of a talker.
On the other hand, back when Hollywood would still use real stunts on set, the lack of dialog sometimes made the characters stand out. Just think of where everything started, the mute movie. Charlie Chaplin remains the legend that defined the genre, but there are many others that would find a way around words and still impress the audience big time. Sure, that is not quite the case with Hardy.
Then there’s the lack of care for fuel and water, two resources that are pretty rare in this virtual world and that lead to unseen social crises. It may be a fictional world, but some scientists claim these changes have already started, and could lead to extremely dangerous conflicts if we don’t act now. Yet, the movie shows those V8, petrol-munchers streaming through the desert like gas would flow in streams while any water reserve is wasted when the ones holding the power feel like doing so.
There’s another detail the funny folks over at Honest Trailers have observed, the virgins. They call the girls Real Housewives of the Citadel. How amusing is that, right?
Again, the cars are truly what stand out in the movie, and they are all noteworthy, but when it comes to the plot, they could have done better.
