The UK was shaken by a monster accident that took place on Friday evening, with the disaster involving 34 vehicles, claiming the lives of seven people and injuring 51.
The M5 motorway in Taunton, Somerset. looked like a scene taken from an apocalyptic Hollywood production on Friday when disaster struck shortly after 8:15 pm local time.

According to The Daily Mail, the tragic event started when the aforementioned section of the M5 was covered in black smoke and fog, which dramatically affected visibility, with cars and trucks crashing into each other.

As if the extremely violet impacts themselves weren't enough, some of the vehicles burst in flames. As you can see in the adjacent images, the scene of the crash was a vast one, with multiple trucks jackknifing.

Many of the people that escaped the initial impact, some of which were devastating - one witness reports that a car was caught under a truck, for example - were then trapped inside their cars. As more and more vehicles hit each other, it all become an infinite chaos, with mothers and children crying as the smoke and flames' intensity increased.

The emergency services arrived in an impressive number and reportedly acted in an impressively effective way, but for some, there was nothing they could do.

The accident was described by witnesses as "the worst anyone can remember" and the police is now investigating the case, with the main emphasis being placed on a fireworks display that was held near the site of the crash just minutes ahead of the tragedy and is believed to have generated the thick smoke that caused everything.

It seems that the fireworks at the Taunton Rugby Club ended at 8:15 pm (local time) with a massive round, which could have also created condition for fog to stay in that portion of the road.

Social media sites are now receiving more and more thoughts from people who want to support those affected by the carnage that took place in the UK. The accident also raises questions about the safety of British motorways.
