Last week we had the pleasure of introducing you to BMW’s new X6 model. The second iteration of the Sport Activity Coupe was unveiled online and is waiting for the Moscow Auto Show to introduce itself personally to a live audience.
Until then we have to deal with virtual appearances of the new model, in a variety of size and shapes. The German BMW website, for example, has a completely new section destined for the new Sport Activity Coupe.

Over there you can go over most of the specs of the new model and see how it looks in various packages, including the M Sport that is supposed to be the best looking one of them all.

However, that wouldn’t be new at all, if you were paying attention to the photos we posted when the car was unveiled. That’s because there was a Flamenco Red model there that was already wearing the aforementioned pack.

That was the M50d model, part of the new M Performance Automobile ranged created by BMW to fill the performance gap between the standard models and the M versions. The X6 MPA uses a tri-turbo diesel 3-liter inline 6-cylinder engine making 381 HP and 740 Nm (546 lb-ft) of torque.

With such an impressive power plant under the bonnet, the 2 ton car can do 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill in 5.2 seconds thanks to the sport 8-speed transmission and the xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive.

Getting back to the matter at hand, the same website allows you to see clearly what differentiates the various packages inside too, not just from the exterior. For example you can see the interior in its new Design Pure Extravagance guise, in the standard version and in the M Sport variant, all of them looking rather good, being set aside from each other by small details.

The new X6 will be introduced live in August and will go on sale this winter in three guises at first, xDrive50i, xDrive30d and M50d. The US will also get the xDrive35i and sDrive35i models starting next year.
