Geely’s Lynk & Co brand was established only five years ago and what better way to celebrate its anniversary than with the launch of a brand-new model in the 09 SUV. The 09 is the carmaker’s largest offering yet and is based on the SPA platform, same as the Volvo XC90.
The Lynk & Co 09 is also one of the brand’s first models to be available exclusively as a hybrid (either in mild-hybrid or plug-in hybrid form), featuring an electrified turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. You can also get it with either a 6 or 7 seat setup, depending on your needs.
Since being established, Lynk & Co has managed to launch a new model every year, while also expanding its product range with the 01 compact SUV, the 02 hatchback, the 03 sedan, 05 coupe SUV, 06 city SUV and of course, the 09.
All Lynk & Co models are extremely focused on connectivity and in just five years, the company has accumulated nearly 600,000 vehicle users, with app registrations reaching a staggering 1.57 million. Meanwhile, the average active monthly users on the app exceed half a million, while the number for the average daily users is an impressive 120,000.
In Europe, the carmaker is offering month-to-month memberships that reject the classic long-term lease structure found throughout the car industry, offering consumers access to the 01 compact SUV for one month at a time. You can then either continue with the subscription or cancel it at the end of each month – kind of like Netflix or Spotify.
Users can even lower their monthly costs by sharing their cars with other Lynk & Co members, who are free to sign up on a pay-per-use basis. Naturally, if you’d rather own the vehicle straight-up, that’s only a possibility.
