Luxgen Neora Concept Sketches Revealed

Luxgen, the Taiwanese automaker, will present at the Shanghai Auto Show the Neorio Concept. The car is the next generation electric sedan that will probably be the brand's flag-ship model.

The automaker, in partnership with Dongfeng Auto, is preparing for its first entry on the Chinese market market. At the Shanghai Auto Show, Luxgen is expected to reveal their first SUV model and also the Neora sedan. No word has been said about their SUV model, but it’s believed it has some connection to the sedan.

The official sketches of the Neora have been revealed, showing the lines of the unique design. The model will be packed with technology such as multi-functional displays that will dominate the passenger compartment. The displays will be developed in association with HTC, in order to integrate communication systems on board.

There are no details regarding the engine, but we can take a glimpse at the bodywork featuring the LED headlights that are large in size and dominate the front of the car. Speculations have been made referring to the electric motor that might be the same with the one on the Luxgen 7 MPV EV, a 150 Kw (201 hp). In 2009, the range for that particular engine, as confirmed officially, was approximately 350 km when the car is traveling at 40 km/h (25mph). The maximum speed is somewhere around the 145 km/h (90 mph) mark.

The European debut for Luxgen could happen in late 2011, with the 7 SUV being priced varying from middle class customers up to very rich ones. The automaker hopes to receive a good feedback on the Neora electric engine focused sedan at the Shanghai Auto Show.
