Luther Blissett Crashes Morgan Roadster at Silverstone Classic

Every sport requires rigorous training, dedication and hard work. But sometimes that is not enough, as the talented sportsmen are the ones who score the best ratings. But being talented at one sport doesn’t mean you can face all of them. Be it even motorsport...

So is the case with England footballer Luther Blissett, who recently took part in the Silverstone Classic, as one of the celebrity racers who had the mission to help raise funds for the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK.

While all of the 14 celebrities turned drivers undergone special training for the event, one managed to crash a Morgan Roadster lightweight racecar. The incident happened on the Village corner of the Silverstone circuit. What happened was that the former Watford, AC Milan and England striker flipped the car, rolling a few times during the opening lap.

However, as you’ll see in the video below this article, the 53-year-old escaped unharmed from the incident, though we cannot say the same thing about the car or his helmet.

"I was turning in the Village and I just overtook.... I can’t remember who was in front of me. I taken him on the inside and it just locked up and the back went as I was going in the corner and unfortunately I caught the curb and I threw the car over. I sat there and thought to myself, ‘it's gonna go.' And look at that."
Blissett said in an interview following the crash, while showing his crash helmet.

The race was won by rocker Rick Parfitt Jnr, who defeated Heston Blumenthal and Brendan Cole.
