Ludicrous Mode Tesla Model S P90D Blasts From 0 to 80 MPH in the Blink of an Eye

They say an image is worth 1,000 words, but how about a video? Well, it depends on the video but what if we told you the clip shows a Ludicrous Model Tesla Model S P90D blasting from a standstill?

That's right, Instagram user scvetojevic was lucky enough to get behind the wheel of a Ludicrous Mode-imbued Tesla P90D, and how the tango turned out is perfectly illustrated in the video below.

Before you proceed and click the play button, make sure you use headphones or turn your speakers down because the level of excitement reached by the driver once his foot tackles the accelerator is through the roof.

But let's be serious, who wouldn't scream onboard a 762-horsepower electric sedan that can make all your internal organs wrap around your spine as it blasts from a standstill to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.8 seconds?

What you'll see in the video is how fast the Ludicrous Mode P90D reaches 80 mph and can still continue the assault if needed. We don't know about you, but some supercar and muscle car owners out there will have to put their egos back together with Band-Aids after this electric sedan is done racing their cars on the drag strip.

Tesla Model S P85D customers can upgrade to P90D, but that decision will leave them without $13,000. That amount is split between $3,000 for the 90 kWh battery and $10,000 for the Ludicrous speed goodies. As for the price of the P90D, the version starts at $118,000 and goes as high as $145,000.

The magic behind the Ludicrous Mode happens because of an intelligent fuse that has its own electronics, as well as a small lithium-ion battery.

Moreover, the main pack contactor now uses Inconel instead of steel, an advanced alloy used for F1 car exhausts. Enough with the boring stuff, head below for the energetic video:
