Alexander Sims and Lucas Luhr will also get behind the wheel of a BMW Z4 this summer, to make sure the title goes to BMW, once again. The guys from BMW Motorsport recently had a sit down with the two and asked them how they felt about the upcoming race.

Talking about the BMW family, both of them had only good things to say: “In the past, whenever I was asked who would be my strongest rivals on the Nordschleife, I always put BMW as the clear number one in my list of favourites. As such, I am delighted to be part of the BMW family,” said Lucas.

“I have been racing on the GT circuit for two years. With BMW, I will now be able to show the GT scene what I am capable of. It is awesome to be a part of the team with such a highly-regarded manufacturer as BMW,” added Alexander.

As for the race itself, Luhr said that “it means everything” to him, especially since he grew up next to the track and even won it two times and claimed a spot on the podium on more than one occasion.

Sims, on the other hand, claimed that the Nordschleife is one of the most difficult and dangerous tracks around the world but at the same time, it’s a great challenge he’s looking forward to.

This year’s Nurburgring 24 hours race will take place on 21st/22nd June, BMW looking to claim the number 1 spot again. Read the full interviews on BMW Motorsport’s website.
