Given the fact that you see Lambos on every other television show, you might think they are a dime a dozen... figuratively speaking. But they are not, since the Italians only make a couple of thousand a year, not like Ferrari who made over 10,000 last year.
This one is their best seller, the Gallardo. Well, not this one, because it’s a relatively rare LP570-4 Spyder Performante, a veritable track machine with no roof on.
The green machine was recently spotted by Brian Zuk, who got a really good close-up of the interior before the car got out onto the track and thrashed about.
Out there, the V10 bellows out sound like a baritone singing Rossini’s Barber of Seville at the top of his voice.
The Performante only weighs 3,275 lb (1,485 kg) thanks to a strict regime of carbon fiber throughout the car. It’s powered by a 5.2-liter V10 that develops 570 hp for a 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint in a mere 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 324 km/h (201 mph).
