Low-Riding 1968 Chevy C10 Has Black Tuxedo, Hides LS Muscle Behind Red Bowtie

Chevrolet’s C/K series has had ample time to contend with its traditional F-Series and Dodge/Ram truck foes. It also garnered a lot of attention from fans throughout its four generations, making it a worthy predecessor to the all-mighty Silverado. But every now and then, the oldie gets another shot at ever-lasting pickup glory.

Actually, judging by the huge number of C10 modifications we’ve come across, it’s not exactly every now and then, but rather often. After all, fans can choose their truck weapon in so many forms, from pavement-scrapping examples to units that will make the owner feel it’s time for celebration every single day.

Naturally, there’s a big niche for customization, and enhancing the classic truck into something that’s feasible for pleasure cruises, daily driving, and also the occasional burnout fest is not at all surprising. In case anyone was looking for exactly that, here’s Sherman, Texas-based PC Classic Cars’ recent consignment of a 1968 Chevy C10 dressed up in very nice black paint.

Basically, this ride is gunning for an understated look, the only splashes of color being the red bowtie badges and the neat chrome details. With the trimming looking intact and ready to shine brightly on its new owner’s driveway, it’s time to unwrap the secrets. Connoisseurs will notice the C10 sits lowered on its aftermarket 20-inch American Racing Torq Thrust D rims, and the truck can even double as a workhorse thanks to the Line-X bedliner.

The suspension is said to come from Belltech, while once inside the cabin, the matching-black “factory style” interior treatment is a highlight, also coming with modern amenities such as the Kicker controller for Apple iPhone.

More importantly, the serious all-black looks aren’t joined by a tame powertrain. Instead, the 1968 C10 goes for the classic LS swap, and it’s been just 7,018 miles (11,294 km) since it was converted to a Vortec lifestyle. The 5.3-liter V8 is said to come from under the hood of a 2022 Suburban, and it’s mated to a 4L60e automatic transmission.

Other modern amenities include the Vintage Air AC system, 4-wheel disc brakes, Magnaflow mufflers, and more, so it’s easy to understand why the dealer wants $39,500 for this nice truck build.
