Low-Mileage Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Priced at £84,995

After the hit-and-miss SC series, the classic Porsche 911 species evolved into the Carrera 3.2. This is one of those awe-inspiring cars. To be more specific, a perfect example in excellent condition.

Hexagon Modern Classics of London wants £84,995 for this looker right here, which is a lot of money for a 31-year-old car that’s neither part of a limited run, nor as exotic as a Ferrari. Still, the odometer shows just 4,429 miles (7,127 kilometers) and the car has always been garaged.

Paul Michaels, chairman of Hexagon Classics, believes that “this is a massive opportunity for someone to purchase a true collector’s item. It is always difficult to find 911s of this era with low mileage – they were built to be used daily after all – but to find a Carrera 3.2 with less than 5,000 miles on the clock is almost unheard of. This model has been perfectly preserved and is ideal for a Porsche enthusiast who wants to enjoy the raw 911 experience.”

This left-hand drive model equipped with the freely aspirated 3.2-liter six-cylinder boxer engine boasts Bosch L-Jetronic fuel metering. Not only is it leaner and more efficient than the engine in the 911 SC, but the 3.2 Carrera also has the advantage in output: 210 PS (207 HP) at 5,900 rpm and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) at 4,800 rpm. 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h)? That’ll be just 6.3 seconds or four-tenths faster than a Renault Clio RS 200 EDC subcompact hot hatch.

Painted in flawless Garnet Red and outfitted with a pristine black leather interior, the 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 in the photo gallery to your right also happens to be equipped quite nicely. The highlights include air conditioning, electric windows, electric sunroof, cruise control, as well as the period Blaupunkt Tucson Cassette/Radio audio system with a 60-watt amp.

More intriguingly, this North American model prides itself on sports shock absorbers, yet the whale tail isn’t present on the engine cover. That, to the eyes of many, ensures the purity of the Porsche 911 shape.
