Low-Mileage 1995 McLaren F1 Could Fetch $12M+ at Pebble Beach Auction

These days, it’s not uncommon to see classic Ferraris roll out of an auction with final price exceeding $10 million, but this 1995 McLaren F1 will likely prove that the eight-figure price range isn’t just an Italian affair. Set to go up for auction next month during the Monterey Car Week, Gooding & Company expects this rare and exquisite to sell for at least $12 million.

Although this particular F1, chassis No. 031, has passed through three owners over its 19 years, it has just 1,617 km (a little over 1,000 miles) on the odometer. Not only that, it had an extensive inspection and servicing in 2008 ensuring this car would run as good as it looked.

Now if that’s not enough to make this ‘90s supercar rare, the auction listing says that its Marlboro White paint job makes it the only such McLaren F1 in existence. Part of this car’s beauty is its original condition, and while the black wheels were added by the car’s current owner, the original silver wheels (still mounted with the original Michelin tires) also come with the car. Proving that this car is still factory fresh, it even comes with the original gold-plated titanium tool kit, the original owner’s manual with a leather-bound case as well as the spare key and fitted luggage set, which are both numbered 031 to match the chassis number.

Originally purchased in Japan in 1995, the car eventually made its way to the U.S. in 2010, and it is sure to be one of the more stunning cars at Gooding & Company’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance auction. It should also prove to be one of the most expensive with a selling price expected to range between $12 million and $14 million. We’ll find out for sure in a couple weeks as Monterey Car Week runs from August 11th though the 17th, and the auction takes place on August 16th and 17th.
