Unveiled in March 2012 ahead of the Geneva Motor Show, the Lotus Exige S Roadster is finally getting ready to make its production debut. It's being hailed as Lotus' fastest convertible ever, powered by a supercharged 3.5-liter V6 engine that gets it from 0 to 60 mph (98 km/h) in just 3.8 seconds.

You can have the lightweight roadster with a six speed manual, but you can also opt for Lotus' Serial Precision Shift automated manual transmission.

It will face stiff competition from the new Porsche Boxster, the latest generation of BMW sportscars, including the Z4 and the new 2 and 4 Series, not to mention the Mercedes SLK 55 AMG.

Editor's note: Isn't this same-gen platform as the Tesla Roadster? It was newish a decade ago…

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
