Lotus might not be racing in this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans after their LMP2 class vehicles have been stripped of suspension components, gearboxes and steering wheels on court order over a financial dispute.
According to SpeedTV, a court decision was made to seize the components due to the Kodewa team allegedly not having met its financial commitments to an undisclosed partner. Further details have yet to be revealed, but the team will try to reach an agreement that will allow it to race at Le Mans.
The two Lotus LMP2 cars are due to be driven on Circuit de la Sarthe by James Rossiter, Kevin Weeda, Christophe Bouchut (car no. 31) and Thomas Holzer, Dominik Kraihamer and Jan Charouz (car no. 32) respectively.
The 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans race is scheduled to start Saturday. Practice and qualifying are already under way.
