Every once in awhile, the British automaker offers special packages that make its products even lighter. The latest is called Carbon Pack, and it was crafted for the Evora 400, which can drop its weight to 1,353 kilograms (2,983 lbs) with it.

Unlike what you might think from the name, it does not come just with carbon fiber components. The new package is available in all markets where Lotus is officially present.

Lotus underlines the fact that the Evora was already the lightest model in its segment, so this package only enforces that spirit. We must note that the Evora 400 sold in North America weighs 1,430 kilograms (3,153 lbs), which is a little more than its European sibling. With that note out of the way, let’s dissect the Carbon Pack for the Lotus Evora 400, to show what it provides.

First of all, it has a front splitter section, a roof panel, a rear diffuser component, a front access panel, wing mirror caps, and the center of the rear wing made from carbon fiber. The weight reduction of these parts if of 5 kg (11 lbs). Did we mention that they are hand made by Lotus specialists?

Second, the package can be specified with a lightweight titanium sports exhaust, and a lithium-ion battery. With both elements applied, weight is reduced by a further 10 kilograms (22 lbs). Lotus’s Carbon Pack costs €9,000 in Germany, $10,000 in the USA, or £6,500 in the United Kingdom.

Clients will be asked a further $8,000 for the titanium sports exhaust, and another $1,690 for the lithium-ion battery. Lotus is kind enough not to ask for more money if the customer decides to ditch the air conditioning system or the rear seats altogether.

Lotus has not mentioned a direct change in performance thanks to the weight reduction that was applied through this package. However, that does not mean that you cannot observe and admire a combined saving of 42 kilograms (93 lbs) over the standard model.

Furthermore, Lotus customers already know that 0 to 60 times are not all that counts when it comes to a sports car, but the Evora 400 already has 400 HP on tap for that.
