Lotus CEO Dany Bahar has just been fired, following an investigation that aimed to determine if he had misused company funds. Let’s hear the decision in official words: "The decision was made by the Board of Group Lotus plc following the results of an investigation into a complaint made against him by the company's penultimate holding company, DRB-HICOM Berhad."
Various media sources indicate that DRB-Hicom, which owns Group Lotus, is looking to sell the company and, despite the fact that this has been denied at an official level, Bahar’s dismissal ads more fuel to this fire.

"I would like to assure you that we remain committed to ensure the ongoing and future business operations of the Lotus Group as we take the Lotus Group to the next level to remain relevant in the global automotive industry," Group Managing Director of DRB-HICOM, Dato' Sri Haji Mohd Khamil Jamil, said.

Bahar has been replaced by Aslam Farikullah and we have to see if his ambitious plan of bringing six new models to the world, as well as developing the company’s own engines, will be continued.
