Lotus Cars Get Cheaper in Australia

The Australian division of Lotus announced it has adjusted the recommended retail price of most models in its current collection, with savings of up to AU$18,500 in the range. Specifically, the facelifted 2011 Lotus Elise will retain the entry level price of AU$69,990, but will be updated with the new production body styling.

The body styling changes will also apply to the Elise R and Elise SC models, both seeing a AU$10,000 base vehicle price reduction.

"The government's import duty reduction at the start of 2010 has offered some assistance, whilst favorable foreign exchange rates have been a further catalyst to these announced price changes. We are now even more competitive as a brand, and with individual models, all this whilst we are still maintaining equipment levels and introducing model year updates,” Lotus Cars Australia Managing Director John Startari said in a release.

Moreover, pricing for the new Lotus Evora is also reduced by AU$10,000, in both 2+0 and 2+2 versions. Lotus also announced retail pricing for Option packs, stand-alone Options and Metallic, Lifestyle and Premium paint throughout the Lotus Elise and Evora platform was also reduced.
