Lotus 2-Eleven for the every day track

Lotus Sport, the race car performance division of Lotus Cars, is getting ready to unveil a new model at the Geneva Motor Show. This model is called Lotus 2-Eleven, an extremely lightweight vehicle with an extraordinary power to weight ratio, thanks to its 1796 cc engine -  which can develop up to 262 horsepower. All this power inside a 670 kg (1,477 lbs) body. You do the math.

Taking full advantage of the powerful engine, the car can reach 100 km/h in about 3.9 seconds, pretty impressive for a EUR 50,000 car. The top speed of the Lotus 2-Eleven is estimated around 250 km/h (155 mph), and its maximum torque of 242 Nm can be reached at 7000 rpm.

Here's what Mike Kimberley, Chief Executive Officer for Group Lotus had to say about the car: ”The Lotus 2-Eleven takes our core brand values to the extreme. It is the ultimate track day vehicle - not only phenomenally quick, but also very user-friendly. In short, the 2-Eleven delivers everything that the modern track day warrior and clubman racer demands, and more.”

Lotus 2-Eleven will enter production in April of this year, and will be manufactured at the Lotus Headquarters in Norfolk, United Kingdom. These babies will go for GBP 39,995 tax included, in the United Kindgom and for EUR 49,575 in the rest of Europe. So far, no pricing details for other markets have been revealed.
