London Mayor Greets the Citroen C-Zero

There is quite a big number of electric vehicles now waging war for the minds and pockets of the British customers, so having an advantage, regardless of its nature, is of paramount importance for the manufacturers behind these models.

In the UK, luckily, the car makers have a big pool of eco-conscious personalities with which to associate their image. None of those personalities, however, comes even close to that of London's mayor, Boris Johnson, a man who has become the icon of green motoring through the measures, at times controversial, he made to support the adoption of green vehicles.

Mitsubishi has already linked its image, or that of the i-MiEV, with the mayor, so it was only logical that the sister model, Citroen's C-Zero, do the same.

The model met the mayor last week, courtesy of Source London, the capital's city wide electric vehicle charging network. The C-Zero will be one of the models which will get charged at one of the 250 charge points across London this year.

The C-Zero, one of the contenders to the title of top selling electric vehicle in the UK in the future, is being promoted by Source London as the perfect choice for motorist who not only want to help save the planet, but also save some cash on Vehicle Excise Duty and London Congestion Charge.

"Through the development of Source London we are seeking to create the fertile conditions for electric vehicles to flourish, to make our city the electric driving capital of Europe," said the mayor.

"This is in support of the expanding range of electric cars coming to market and will deliver a range of environmental benefits in terms of pushing down on pollution in London.”
