The G-Wiz electric vehicle has just received a limited edition that celebrates the car’s strong bond with London. The London G-Wiz was commissioned by GoinGreen, the retailer of the EV and was designed by multidisciplinary art & design collective ContainerPLUS.

The vehicle, which can also be considered a celebration of the UK’s capital, has made its public debut on Saturday 27th November at the pedestrian only Shop West End VIP Day.

London has taken the G-Wiz to heart and there are now well over 1,000 on the city’s streets. GoinGreen is the pioneer of zero emissions electric driving in London, launching the G-Wiz in 2004. The vehicle is now recognizably associated with the Capital and has raised London’s profile as a leader in the adoption of electric vehicles. Having already done two design collaborations with Eley Kishimoto and Ella Doran, we thought it about time that we commissioned a design to seal the relationship between G-Wiz and London,” said Rudi Schogger, managing director of GoinGreen.

The vehicle is based on a G-Wiz i model and comes with lightweight alloy wheels, a leather finish for the interior, DAB radio and Bluetooth connectivity. The car offers a top speed of 50 mph(80.5 km/h) and has a range of 48 miles (77 km). The vehicle, which comes with a two-year warranty, can be yours for GBP12,995.

I want London to become the electric vehicle capital of Europe, so it seems fitting that G-Wiz has encapsulated iconic sights and scenes of our great city in such a creative way. We have recently launched Source London to help more people take the electric option in the future,” said Boris Johnson, Mayor of London.
