Toyota of North Hollywood provided CXC with a real 2006 Lola Champ Car for the project that demanded unparalleled realism, easy access in the cockpit and a seat to accommodate different users.

CXC ditched the engine of the car and replaced it with the main computers and electronic bits required for the simulation. They also managed to integrate the car’s steering and pedal systems into the system to enhance the quality of the simulation.

The main feature on the simulator is represented by the three 55” LCD screens that acts like a single one to give the driver a natural 180 degrees field of view. In order to accommodate multiple users, the cockpit has been fitted with a custom-made wide leather seat, in which you can get through an easy-access ladder, specially designed to allow the user to cross the wide body of the car without stepping and damaging it.
