Lola Cars International Ltd. is on the verge of going bankrupt, for the second time in the last 15 years. The racing car and engineering company was founded in 1958 and is based in Huntingdon, England. They first started producing front engined sports cars, before entering motorsport and building F1 cars and Le Mans racers unti the present day.
Their first spot of trouble came in 1997 when they had a very poor attempt at a Formula 1 return with their own engineered and built car. Now they are blaming the British government’s recent tax changes which have caused them “a serious cash flow problem”.
We hope they find an investor soon and get back to work because they’re one of the oldest names in the business and the racing world would be a sadder place without them.
